Moroccan Salafist Cleric Defends Heroine of Controversial Film Much Loved

Rabat – Mohammed Fizazi, a reformed Moroccan Salafi-jihadist sheikh, has defended the heroine of the controversial film by Nabil Ayouch”Much Loved”.In a video posted on YouTube, the cleric said that Lubna Abidar called him crying and expressing regret for her role in the film, saying that she was hurt by the attacks of Said Naciri, a Moroccan stand-up comedian and actor, who had called her a prostitute live in one of his shows.The cleric, who was once jailed for life over the 2003 Casablanca bombings, said that he explained to Lubna that her participation in the film was a “sin”, and that “the door of repentance and return to Allah is always open.”“This is not the end of the world, everyone make mistakes,” he said.
